How to save money buying ATV tires and rims

Don't make the biggest mistake when buying ATV tires and rims. Read on to find out what you should know.

Paying retail isn't neccessary anymore

I don't pay retail for ATV tires or rims because the internet has opened up so much competition. I either talk the dealer down or buy online at a trusted site like http://traxms.com that has free shipping. If you are buying a mounted set of ATV tires and wheels anyway, then you can just bolt them on yourself no problem. Just talk to someone who knows what bolt pattern and offset wheels you need. You don't want to try to ship them back.

Save big time on sales tax

If you are unfortunate enough to live in a state that has a steep sales tax then you definitely want to buy ATV or UTV tires online. The tax savings can even offset the expense of having them mounted at a local shop. Find a site that is based in another state and can ship from a warehouse that is close to you. Even if the ATV tires and rims come from a warehouse in your state you may not have to pay taxes to the retailer.

tire and wheel combos

I found the best way to buy atv tires and wheels is to get them at the same time.  A good shop will usually give some sort of discount when you buy both together.  It's kind of like a quantity discount you get when buying in bulk.  There are many advantages other than price as well.  When you get ready to put them on your bike all you have to do is unbolt the old rims and bolt the new ones right on.  You can keep a spare set around to easily swap back and forth as well.  Nothing does more to change the look of your four wheeler than upgrading rims and tires.  You can literally transform your quad from plain to spectacular in a few easy steps.  A tire and rim kits is sometimes called a package or combo.  My favorite name term for it is "bigfoot kit".  I don't know why that makes sense but it sounds cool.
